PUBLIC ENEMY

The Public Enemy nº1, a logo that's worth the best design companies and the best marketing campaigns. Also a controversie, that's become even more ambiguous this lasts years, especially regarding to everything that is muslim, even if in some cases the adhesion to the muslim faith by black individuals acts more like a response to the white dominating christian. Not anymore only in the States.

Son of a bush

Nevertheless, it's one of the gangs (?!) that stands out the rap scene since the begining of the thing, even more if we look closer at what rap has turned into. I'm tempted to speak about corruption, bahh! Glad they retired because of that. Public Enemy, the militant, the resistant to the occupying forces. Ok that stands up. On a pedestal. May be not. With a megaphone. The rebel without a pause. A track like Son of a Bush is still applying today, amazingly. Like a tradition passing from generation to generation.

Fight the power

Don't believe the hype
911 is a joke
Night of the baseheads
Pump the Music, Pump the Sound

Sampling and mixing like hell, the preferences go to the Soul of the 70s, Brother James and the others, a reference to the extinguished black movement of the 70s, afros and black panters. The rap approach, samples and DJs, turntables and vinyl plates, some of the best records ever produced, a sound that is really fat, full and rich, check the fear of a black planet.

Electric slave
